Do you know how vegetables grow:
A potato or a carrot?

There’s an experiment that shows you how,
Come one now, let’s try it!

Getting Started:

  • Carefully cut off the bottom of a carrot – the pointy end!
  • Stick four cocktail sticks around the top – north, south, east and west, in a cross shape.
  • Place he sticks so that they sit on the top of the glass, with the carrot hanging in the middle.
  • Now fill the glass to near the top with water, so that the carrot is half under water.
  • Watch what happens over the next few days.

Some Suggestions:

Ask an adult to take a photo each week and you can see the progress.
