Boxie’s Leaf Art

What You'll Need

  • Leaves
  • Cling Film
  • PVA Glue
  • 60 mins
  • Ages 3 - 4
  • Inside
  • Not a Speck
Some people call it Autumn
When skies are grey not blue,
Others call it Fall instead
Because of what leaves do!

Getting Started:

  • Place a layer of cling film on a clean tabletop. Use a piece small enough to hang over a window pane.
  • Using a bit of glue, stick the leaves leaf, onto the cling film, arranging the shapes and colours in ways that you think look nice.
  • Now place another piece of cling film on top, so that the leaves are in cling film sandwich! The trick is to keep the cling film as flat as possible.
  • Now carefully peel the clingfilm sandwich off the table – one of you at each end is best. Keep it straight and flat as you bring it over to the window.
  • Now place the cling film flat against a window pane. It should stick without tape, then stand back and look at the beautiful effect the light has on the different leaves.

Gathering objects found outside opens up an amazing opportunity of discovery for you and your child. Allow their curiosity lead the conversation as you go outside to find your materials.
