We’re going to make great pictures
Hip, hip, hip hurray!
But this time not with brushes
‘cos we’re going to use a spray!

Getting Started:

  • Mix up water and food colouring in each spray bottle.
  • It’s best to do the spraying outside. Set up your easel outside or, if you don’t have an easel peg the paper to a tree or tape it to a wall or fence.
  • Do a bit of experimenting on the first sheet. Everyone should have a go to get used to how the spray bottles work – short, little bursts of spray are enough.
  • When everyone feels they’re comfortable using the spray bottles, it’s time to make your own proper pictures.
  • What are you going to paint? Will it be an animal? A person? A place? Or a pattern?
  • When you’re finished your painting lay it somewhere flat and away from the breeze, so that it can dry.

What will you do with it? Will you hang it on the wall? Or will you use it as wrapping paper at Christmas time?
