Who lives under the hedgerow?
What will you find in the park?
There are birds and beasts and beetles
In the daylight and the dark!

Getting Started:

  • First make your butterfly food. Mix a cup of sugar with four cups of water and stir it until it’s dissolved.
  • Soak some of your pieces of sponge in the mixture so they’re filled up with sugar-water.
  • Now place the pieces of sponge around the place: on tree branches, on windowsills, on walls.
  • You can even tie a piece of string around a bit of sponge and hang it outside your window so that you can watch the butterflies from inside. That way you’ll get really close to them!

A scientist who studies animals is called a ‘Zoologist’.
